#Squarch 7: Bass Cove Waltz

Because I’m treating this project as a chance to play tunes I’d play for a square dance (square + march = squarch), I figure waltzes are fair game — we’d usually play a waltz at the end of a dance, or before a break. This one’s a modern composition by Erynn Marshall, off her album Greasy Creek.

I’m also using this project to learn how to use a DAW more complicated than Audacity. I’ve got an older OEM copy of Tracktion/Waveform, and a current trial of Reaper; we’ll see which I like better. I used Waveform for this, and it’s a little confusing, but if I can get my bluetooth footswitch connected so I can punch in/out while recording, that would be awesome.

Anyway, this is a lovely waltz and I’m not doing it justice; go buy the Greasy Creek album for a much better performance, including Adam Hurt on banjo, I think. (Bass and guitar on my recording are from Strum Machine.)
